Kitchen remodeling built for coastal Florida homes
The kitchen is where a house earns its keep. We rebuild them in stages you can live with (demo, rough-in, cabinets, counters, tile, finish) and tell you on day one which steps need a permit.
Most of the kitchens we see in Nassau County and Jacksonville fall into two groups: 1970s–90s block and frame homes with builder cabinets, laminate counters and a wall that wants to come down; and 2000s–2020s production homes in Yulee, Nocatee and the Northside where everything works but nothing was chosen. Both get the same process: a walkthrough, a written scope with line items, and a schedule you can hold us to.
We do the carpentry, cabinetry, tile, flooring, drywall, trim and paint ourselves. Plumbing and electrical that stays in place (a new faucet, a swapped fixture) is routine. Relocating the sink, adding an island with power, or opening a load-bearing wall is permitted work, and when a job needs a permit or a licensed trade (moving plumbing, new circuits, structural changes) we say so up front and bring in the licensed plumber, electrician or general contractor who pulls it.
Coastal details matter here: plywood boxes over particleboard near the dishwasher, a vapor barrier under new flooring on slab, cabinet hardware that will not pit in salt air, and a paint system that handles a kitchen at 70% humidity in August.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Nassau County or Jacksonville?
In 2026 a cosmetic refresh (paint, hardware, counters, backsplash, lighting) typically lands between $10,000 and $20,000; a mid-range remodel with new cabinets, counters, tile and flooring between $20,000 and $45,000; a full gut with layout changes $45,000 and up. Island delivery, condo logistics and permit fees push Amelia Island jobs a little higher. We price from a walkthrough, never from a photo.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Plan on two to three weeks for a refresh and five to eight weeks for a full remodel once materials are on site. Cabinet lead times (four to ten weeks) are usually the longest wait, so we order before demo and keep your old kitchen working until the day we start.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen remodel?
Not for cabinets, counters, tile, flooring, paint or like-for-like fixture swaps. You do for moving plumbing or gas, adding circuits, or touching structure. Nassau County and the City of Fernandina Beach issue their own permits; Jacksonville uses the JaxEPICS portal. We flag permitted items in the scope and coordinate the licensed trade that pulls them.
Can I stay in the house during the work?
Yes. We set up a temporary kitchen corner, seal the work area with plastic, and run a HEPA air scrubber during demo and sanding. Most clients stay.
